Substantial manual dismantling is regarded as the most critical procedure in e-waste recycling, because it reduces environmental impacts by avoiding the diffusion of hazardous material, and also provides economic benefits by recovering and recycling usable materials (Achillas et al., 2013). Container 1 used two special dismantling tables, containing numerous holes connected to collecting tubes, for processing waste LCDs. The estimated dismantling times for each LCD, CRT, PC mainframe, and PCBs were about 8 min, 10 min, 8 min, and 12 min, respectively (SC Fig. S2eS5).
