Next on the agenda is the stunning seaside region known as Big Sur. This stretch of road is one of the most beautiful in the world as Highway 1 skirts along coastal cliffs, passes over narrow bridges and travels through Redwood forests. Stop at one of the dozens of viewpoints along the highway to take photos of the cliffside vistas.
As we’re now 300 miles outside of Los Angeles, Big Sur might be a good place to spend the night. The Big Sur Lodge is located inside the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, in the Redwood Forest and on the banks of the Big Sur River. The lodge prides itself on its artistic vibe.
