Frames are configurations of beliefs, assumptions, values, and factual knowledge. Frames can and do vary greatly in their phenomenological scope(e.g., from a very small event to a whole era) and in their fidelity to reality. Cue noticeability within a frame is a function either of learned symbolic importance or cue interruption(i.e., when something expected to happen didn't or when something not expected to happen did). Cues are more or less emotionally arousing and energizing depending on the operative frame.
