The photosynthetic activities of C. indica were assessed by measuring
the changes in chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics using a
pulse-amplitude modulation fluorescence analyzer (Water PAM, Walz,
Germany) (Shi and Cai, 2009). In June 2014, five sampling sites
(i.e., sites 1–5) 20 cm fromeach other along thewater flow, were selected
for measurements of fluorescence characteristics of the plants. The
effective quantum yield of PS II (ΦPS II), maximum photochemical efficiency
(Fv/Fm), electron transport rate (ETR) and non-photochemical
quenching (NPQ) were measured in triplicate following the dark adaption
of leaves of C. indica for 30 min.
