B. Location Detection and Tagging via Foursquare API

Foursquare is a popular application providing easy checkin options to its users.

Since many people currently use Foursquare,

its database includes a large amount of various venues.

Therefore, Foursquare provides place possibilities to users at any location.

RemindMe application employs the place suggestion facility of Foursquare and embeds it within a location-based reminder application.

In order to tag a location with RemindMe,

the user has to be existent in that location.

The longitude and latitude information of the user is obtained via GPS or Wi-Fi/Cell ID and they are send to Foursquare API.

Then, the 10 most possible place options existent in the Foursquare database are listed to the user (Fig. 3a).

When the user taps on the correct option among 10, the location information such as its address, longitude,latitude is added to our system.
