Generation gap generally refers to the differences between people in terms of their views, opinions and life style mainly due to the difference in the generation they belong to. In the case of a family, this happens between parents and children.
This is mostly the root cause of the relationship issues teenagers usually have with their parents. Although I have differences of opinion with my parents regarding our views on religion, politics and several other things, it never caused any problems in our relationship. We just have healthy discussions about it and agree to disagree if it comes to that ! So, from my experience, this is what I think the children should do :
