This appendix is intended to explain what is meant by “biodiversity‐inclusive” Environmental Impact
Assessment (B‐EIA), the different types of B‐EIA that can be implemented, the benefits of B‐EIA to
farmers, to clarify the role of B‐EIA in farm planning and management, and to outline the basics
required steps in a B‐EIA. This appendix also outlines a method for applying a B‐EIA relative to the
scale or size of the farm. Finally, it suggests a key checklist for farmers to follow to help them complete
the B‐EIA process and to help auditors verify it.
