Content analysis is primarily a qualitative methodology, but, as noted above, it also includes a quantitative component, which provides an advantage over other more purely qualitative methods, such as literary interpretation and hermeneutics (Duriau, Reger, & Pfarrer, 2007). Content analysis methodology is especially suited for rigorous exploration of many important issues that are often difficult to study (Duriau et al., 2007). Also, it is particularly suited to answer the questions we posed in the introduction because, as noted by Duriau et al.
