DCV (DESTINATION CODED VEHICLES)
To meet our customers’ evolving requirements towards more flexible and reliable solutions, ALSTEF developed its expertise in baggage automatic sorting with the DCV solution (Autover® System). This system allows the optimisation of the operations with great flexibility, while guaranteeing availability of close to 100%.
THE BAGGAGE SORTING INTELLIGENCE EMBEDDED IN THE DCV.
Instead of circulating on conveyors and carrousels, the bags are loaded and transported at high speed on DCVs. These self-directed vehicles with embedded intelligence circulate on static tracks. A centralised and fixed control system manages and optimises the missions of the DCVs and the flow of traffic.
Each DCV completes its transportation mission by adapting its speed (up to 10m/sec) to the geometry of the tracks. Able to calculate its route, adapt to traffic, and enter a circuit without disrupting traffic, the DCV communicates with other DCVs upstream and downstream to maintain safe distances and transport the baggage safely to its destination.
The embedded intelligence even gives the DCV the ability to make its own diagnosis and travel to the maintenance area if a problem has been detected.

Maintenance can be done without stopping the operations since the DCVs leave the main circuit and travel to a section of track dedicated to maintenance.
The circulation tracks have no wearing parts and require low maintenance.
