Samples (approximately 20 kg in each sampling) were collected
early in the morning and were immediately transferred to the
laboratory for further analyses. For each crop, 3 samplings were
performed in 3 consecutive dates of July (12, 18 and 26). After
harvesting, the fruits were cleaned with water, selected, cut and
homogenized. Fresh fruit was used for the color assessment, and their homogenate was utilized for the ascorbic acid determination.
The homogenate was then lyophilized and stored at room
temperature until the analysis of the anthocyanins and total
phenolic compounds (Hargreaves et al., 2008).
