Activities after 24h of fermentation were found to be 28.1 ±1.7U/ml and 84.7 ± 12.9U/ml for the positive control strains B. subtilis ATCC 23857 and E. coli ATCC 10798, respectively, however for these strains the level of growth measured at A600 was low, between 1.5 and 2 (data not shown).
