A dance dedicated to the gods for peace and prosperity according to legends. The children of angels did this every weekend to entertain themselves in their heaven.
Ken Dance
Ken is a windpipe musical instrument made of a small bunch of bamboos. This dance generates from northern Cambodia in Steung Traeng, which is located at the Cambodian-Laotian border. Especially young males and females often use Ken as a tool to send tunes of romantic messages to one and another.
Golden Mermaid (Part of the Ramayana)
King Rama ordered Hanuman and his monkey troops to build a stone bridge across the ocean to Lanka City to free Queen Sita. While the monkey troops were building the stone bridge, the Golden Mermaid and her fish secretly moved the stones away to stop the bridge from being completed. When Hanuman found out, he successfully wooed the Golden Mermaid and subsequently convinced her to help rebuild the stone bridge to Lanka City.
Cardamom Harvest Dance
Cardamom is a legendary herbal medicine in Cambodia. It is found on Mount Cardamom of Pursat Province. People of the region harvest the crop during the fertile season and have created this dance in remembrance of the old days.
Apsara Dance
Apsara in Sanskrit translates to Celestial Dancers and the Apsaras are featured in their thousands at the ancient temples of Angkor. Apsaras are reputed to have a friendly and gay nature. They danced for the gods, in order to encourage rain, good crops, prosperity and protection for the Kingdom.
