In general, most of participants showed poor oral
hygiene practices. Of total, only 59.4% reported
brushing their teeth regularly (i.e. once or more
in a day). This rate is lower than that reported
among children with DS in Saudi Arabia[11] (75%),
Jordan[12] (77.7%), and Australia[13] (90%). Lack of oral
health education in both parents and children might
explain this poor finding in the present study.
