Costs reduced
Registration fees made cheaper
The cabinet on December 23 gave the go ahead to cut migrant worker's registration fees to 500 bath.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting, deputy government spokesman Sansern Kaewkammerd said the cabinet had approved a ministerial regulation for a cut from 2000 bath to 500 bath for Myanmar,Lao and Cambodian workers in Thailand.
The cut in fees should encourage more employers and foreign workers to register with one stop service centres which will help monitor migrant labour, prevent employees taking advantage of workers and address abuse and human trafficking problems, Sansern said.
