Most of the use cases around iBeacon focus on proximity detection and an approximate location of the user.
We wanted to experiment with radio signals from iBeacons to see if we could achieve a more precise position and indoor navigation of a user similar to GPS in the outdoor world.
The objective of our paper is to present our experiments around this area.
The two main approaches to the problem are through the distance-based Trilateration and machine learning based Fingerprinting.
This paper mentions both but analyzes only the fingerprinting
approach in depth.
