Cognac – Cognac is made from double distillation in a copper pot still. Cognac is produced in Cognac area in France. Cognac is made from fermented grape. The most common white grape that used in Cognac production is Ugni-Blanc. Cognac must be aged legally at least 2 years in French oak barrel. Cognac is usually served straight up. Warm snifter glass is used for serving as Armagnac. Cognac has 3 different grades as follow:
“V.S.” (Very Special or Superior) – a blend of brandy which the youngest brandy must be aged minimum at least 2 years in wooden barrel.
“V.S.O.P.” (Very Special Old Pale) – a blend of brandy which the youngest brandy must be aged minimum at least 4 years in wooden barrel.
