RESULTS
The rates of gestational hypertension,
preeclampsia, and eclampsia were highest in
both the youngest (15 to 17) and the oldest
(45 to 54) women, whereas increased age
was positively associated with the rate of essential
hypertension (Table 1). Women with a
diagnosis of diabetes (gestational, type 1, or
type 2) had increased rates of diagnoses for
all forms of hypertension studied compared
with those without diabetes diagnoses.
