The high prevalence of parasitic infection among the public has led to increased funding for epidemiological surveillance, unwarranted financial stress on patients, incidence of hospital admission,
increase in the demand of antihelminthic drugs,
pressure on pharmaceutical industry to discover and develop a more potent
antihelminthic drugs to curtail increase spreading of parasites, the risks of death and finally food insecurity in West Africa.
