Later still, the question could be written on the board, the paragraphs read silently and the answers written; in a week or so, several questions might be written on the board, and the class set to work without help or instructions from the teacher. In these lessons, when most of the pupils have found an answer, the correct version should be discussed, or the incompleteness of some of the answers might be pointed out by the pupils. Discussion will be necessary when there are alternative correct answers. Then the pupils' judgment will be brought into play in selecting the best and giving reasons for their choice.
