were analyzed as % number over the period of days (for a total
of 8 days) after surgery.
Two-tailed tests with a significance of p < 0.05 were used in all
tests. All statistical analyses were performed using the software
package Statistica v.7 (StatSoft Inc., Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA).
