Strengths and limitations A quasi-experimental design was chosen to study the effects of the Jog Your Mind program in real life. The subjects in the control group were followed the program one year later than the experimental group, but the inclusion criteria were the same for both groups. The research team provided a subject pre- selection chart to all of the community organizations to assist them in the recruitment process. The research coordinator then validated the participants’ eligibility. A number of variables were documented to verify the comparability of the groups at the start and to make subsequent adjustments, using rigorous analyses.
