Results
According to the microscopical examination of the female
gonads of O. massavensis, the ovaries could be differentiated
into six different ovarian developmental stages according to
their sizes, colors and histological observations (staining affinities
of different structural components, location and organization
of different oocyte inclusions and nuclear sizes). These
stages are: immature stage, previtellogenesis, primary vitellogenesis,
secondary vitellogenesis, maturation and spent stage.
