The survey was an extension of the questionnaire presented in
[2], comprising of several 5 point Likert scale items. The participants’
task was to watch one of the three concept videos
and fill in the questionnaire (based on what they saw in the
video only). The survey consisted of three sections concerning:
(1) demographics of the participants; such as gender,
age, country of origin and experience with electronic
toys, (2) persuasive and interactive abilities of the agent, and
(3) subjective/qualitative responses on design aspects of the
drone. Therefore, via feedback attained through the questionnaire
we could ascertain which drone modality was considered
the most persuasive by the participants. Besides numerous
Likert scale items, we also measured the factor ‘Perceived
Persuasion’ [2] which was acknowledged to be the
mean of the following four items: Ignorant/Knowledgeable,
Irresponsible/Responsible, Unintelligent/Intelligent, Unreliable/Reliable.
A single 5 point Likert scale item for each of
the compliance and scenario clarity was also added. The subjective
feedback sections asked the participants to comment
on how to improve the human-agent interaction presented,
positives/negatives about the concept, and acceptance within
their environment.
