The standard solution of 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125gml−1
were prepared from the stock solution by dilution in ultra pure
water. Afterwards, 1ml of each standard solutionwas transferred
into a 3 ml glass tube and 2ml of iron(III)–thiocyanate solution
containing 100gml−1 iron(III) was added in. The mixture of
standardwas stirred for 2.5 h at 40 Cand cooled at room temperature
and then centrifuged for 15 min at 4000 rpm. The standards
were injected on column and iron(III)–thiocyanate peak was
detected at 460 nm. Increasing phytic acid causes a decrease
in concentration of iron(III)–thiocyanate complex and consequently
a decrease in peak area
