Two PGPR strains were used in the experiments, namely Azospirillum brasilense strain Sp7, isolated from Digitaria grass and Bacillus sphaericus strain UPMB10, an aerobic, rod-shaped, endospore-forming, Gram-positive bacteria with a nif-gene.
