Fourth, narrowing the scope of analysis to trade-union-led initiatives
for the transnational coordination of CB on the European sector level, two
main patterns are discernable: on the one hand transnational cross-border
coordination initiated by national unions (bottom-up); and on the other CB
coordination arrangements established by European Industry Federations
(EIFs) (top-down). Th us, the vertical dimension of coordination activities
carried out by European sectoral peak-level organizations and their national
member organizations is of particular relevance.
