Thanks to James Goyder of Fightland for bringing this to my attention. There is a group called Lub-D (sleep well) who run a chain of youth hostels in Bangkok. They used to have one at my buddies place flowhouse. I haven’t been in a hostel for years, but from the looks of it, they’ve come a long, long way from what I remember. There new gimmick/concept for their newest accommodation is muay thai themed…
They take it a step further, they’ve got a introductory promo/challenge… if you can burn 3K calories you get to stay gratis!
So I sometime train with a heart rate monitor… for shits and giggles. and 3K is no easy task. Here’s a sample workout I did way back when… as you can see the initial bit is the skipping, the peaks are calisthenics in between rounds, (the highest peaks are burpees), about an hour in, is when we start to smash pads (5×3 min) then I’m holding pads… total workout time was 1h:54MM, and I only burned 1581 calories aka a quarter pounder meal with an apple pie! 3k plus being surrounded by all the street food?
