Although it is reasonable to suppose that several types of information may
be helpful in assessing the potential usefulness o f a book, little empirical evidence
is available to indicate whether bibliographic enhancements make a measurable
difference in the attitudes and information seeking behavior of end-users. By
contrast, this study is designed to use comparative data to measure the attitudes of
end-users toward OPAC displays that have been augmented by bibliographic
enhancements. This research addresses whether the addition o f bibliographic
enhancements to an OP AC-specifically tables of contents and book review changes
the attitudes and information seeking behavior o f end-users, and whether
those changes, if any. are significant.
