Although some people find it difficult to make adjustments to the device, in order to accurately measure the stride of the wearer, the most challenging part of using a pedometer is often trying to find the right place to wear the device. It is recommended that it be placed on a belt on the wearer’s hips; other places that may measure distance more accurately includes clipping it to the top of a boot or to the shoe laces on the front of a shoe or boot. Most pedometers can count both steps and feet, so you must remember to check the setting on the device before starting.
