To illustrate the computation of the Kendall coefficient of correlation in the
presence of ties, we analyze a dataset taken from Conover (1999). Twelve MBA
(Master in Business Administration) graduates are considered. We would like to
measure the strength of agreement between their GMAT (Graduate Management
Admission Test) score X taken before entering graduate school and their grade point
average Y while they were in the MBA program. See Table 6.3.
