In this section, the definition of translation methods and techniques are determined. Source text and target text are compared sentence by sentence, phrase by phrase and word by word to identify techniques used in each statement according to Larson’s techniques. Findings are presented in the form of tables with explanations and comments. Finally, the conclusion, discussion and recommendation are given.
The results of the analysis are shown in form of tables. Some examples are also analyzed and each example consists of three parts. The first two parts are the source text and target text and the last part is the discussion.
Larson’s seven translation strategies were applied in translating cultural articles published in Kinnaree Magazine . The analysis of data gained from 50 cultural articles revealed that Larson’s seven translation strategies have been used. Examples of each strategy have been provided and plausible explanations attempted. Discussion has been included based on Larson’s translation strategies as follows:
