the sourcing and operations engineeringteam is responsible for ensuring all ofour outsource partners can design buildmanufacture and ship that infrastructureon time so that we deliver a greatexperience to users around the globe wehave some challenges today and that ourgrowth at times is exceeding worldwidecapacity but impossible is nothing hereand that's actually the part I lovebecause we do get to manage theimpossible the sourcing team has to beinvolved in supporting the entireprocess for sourcing a data centerlocation all of the mechanical andelectrical infrastructure all of thecommercial electronics all of theconnectivity connecting that DC to theplanet if you took one Facebook datacenter and laid it on its side it wouldbe taller than the Empire State Buildingthat's bigger than foursoccer fields we enable the delivery ofFacebook products by just getting thecompute and storage technology andequipment for the data centers when it'sneeded on time basically we get to touchoff assets of the business all of theseelements working together from onecohesive team build the backbone thatruns Facebook when I first got hereeverything is about disruptive ideas howquickly can we implement thosedisruptive ideas that was veryrefreshingwe don't do cookie cutter designs herewe get to explore new ways of designingproducts that would not be available tothe commercial industry and that to meis extremely excitingwe're not plugged into a role every dayis new everybody's fun we get to workwith industry-leading engineers that aredesigning the products and every day Icome into work I learned something newtriage collaborate ability to move fastand deliver that's the fun part thespeed of change and innovation and theinvestment for growth providestremendous opportunities both on apersonal and a professional level thebiggest thing that resonates aboutFacebook for me is the people you willnot find people that are moreopen and honest and I think the work Ido as well as the people I work with iswhy I say to me being open is reallyvaluing a diverse culture so as mydaughter is coming into the workforce Iwant to have a positive impact and showher what great female role models thatwe have here at Facebook the question isnot which problem do you want to solveit's what team do you want to be a partof because there are a handful ofcompanies that are solving very cool bigproblems but not the way that we aregoing about solving them here we have somuch work to do it's reallymind-boggling our mission is to connectthe rest of the world and bringcommunities together and we can reallymake an impact on their lives that'swhat brought me here when we look at theramp that we're trying to accomplishover the next 3-5 years it's just it'sscary but that's also the fun part aboutit right which is you can look at it andbe afraid and not get anywhere or youcan look at it and say I'm gonna takethat mountain
