In this work, the corrosion protective performance of composites of PANI, doped with phosphoric acid (PANI-PA), in a UV-curable polyester acrylate (PEA) matrix applied on polished carbon steel is investigated.
Phosphoric acid is used as the dopant considering the important role of PANI’s counter-ion in corrosion prevention and the reported effectiveness of this dopant in corrosion inhibition of steel
It is also due to the promoting effect of phosphates in the coating adhesion to steel substrates. The UV-curable formulation was chosen due to no volatile content, low energy consumption, fast curing and good mechanical properties
