Culture
High-quality content and activity management as well as long-term commitment, co-operation and genuine interaction are the principles for the cultural activities of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East. The objectives of the cultural program are to promote networking in culture and education, give building blocks for cooperation between educational organizations, offer learning and job opportunities especially for young professionals in the cultural field and make Finnish education, culture and arts better known and more accessible in the Middle East.
According to its mission, the institute (FIME) organizes concerts, exhibitions, workshops, discussions and seminars, takes part in festivals and cultural events organized in the Middle East, cooperates with Finnish and Middle Eastern organizations and universities, actively seeks for new partners, informs about Finnish – Middle Eastern cultural cooperation and promotes it for media both in Finland and in the Middle East.
The core areas for cultural activities at the institute are architecture, design, cooperation with universities in music and visual arts, and social arts projects.
