The annual performances of the two SWH systems were
evaluated based on the year-round simulation results using
the TMY hourly weather data of different cities in China.
Each of the selected cities represents the typical zone climate conditions in China. Individual systems were assumed
serving a single-family house with 50 C hot water at the
consumption rate of 120 L per day. The load profile was
in accordance with the IEA-SHC Task 26 recommendations (Jordan and Vajen, 2001). In the system operation,
the hot water in tank is first to flow through an auxiliary
heater and is heated up to 55 C for hygiene reason, if its
temperature is lower than 55 C. Then this hot water
stream was allowed to mix with an appropriate amount
of cold water for controlling the distributed water supply
temperature to 50 C.
