The proposed methodology and computational algorithm will
be applied to the IEEE RTS-96 [21] and some modifications
are made to it, named IEEE RTS-96HW [20], in order to cope
with the power fluctuations of hydro and wind units. Since the
original configuration does not have any wind power source, one
of the original coal units of 350 MW is substituted by 1526 MW
of wind power. The original IEEE-RTS hourly load model is
used in all studied cases.
