1. Managing Diversity. Interview two or three employees of a company in your area. Ask whether they’re paid on the basis of their performance. If so, ask how performance is measured and what percentage of total pay is based on performance. If they aren’t so paid, find out if the employees would like to be paid for performance, and if so, under what type of plan---merit, incentive, or earning at risk. Identify the reasons employees use to explain why they prefer one type of plan over another.
