If possible, obtain a piece of material the same size as indicated on the drawing. Depending on the part to be made, you may be able to use material that is the same size as the finished job. However, certain parts may require that the edges be machined to finished dimensions. This may necessitate using material that is larger than the finished parts in order to allow for machining of edges. Follow through each step as described in the text. Refer to the layout drawings to determine where layout is to be done. The pictures will help you in selecting and using the required tools.
