To study whether organizational adoption of environmental programs or greening of organizational
culture is an effective path to improving ecological conditions is a desirable path for future
research. Given mixed results on the environmental impacts of corporate environmental actions to
date, examining the material impacts of different types of corporate environmental actions will provide
a better understanding of the effectiveness of these efforts. The linking of organizational
characteristics and/or actions to environmental evidence will provide important advances in the argument
that the greening of organizational culture results in actual environmental improvements.
