Many places in UK are so interesting for people around the world especially the places about art and design. Fortunately, I decided to study Design, Innovation and Brand Management in master degree at The University for the creative art (UCA) in this country for a year. I started study here with the pre-sessional English course for ten weeks. I expected this course would help me to learning a new thing that I did not know before.
On Friday 24th June 2016, I went to London with my classmate. We had the project 1 to researching about art exhibition in British museum and Victoria and Albert museum (V&A). Everyone had to choose four exhibitions from two museums that depend on their interested. Most of students had chosen an exhibition by surfing the internet through museum website. There has much more information for preparing ourselves to go the museums such as date and time of exhibition, describe the main idea of exhibition, cost for visiting (an audience need to pay money or free), room number of exhibition and so on.
The first exhibition I chose was Courting to contract exhibition on the first floor at The British museum. This exhibition tell story of love and marriage in Iran in the past. They shown many papers of marriage contract of love couples in Iran in different pattern. Some drew an animal painting with colourful colours and decorating with gold paper they also use line for creating the movement in their marriage contract as well. Some did a marriage contract in a simple way they just wrote down some words and drew a little symbols on a paper. I was recording the information by sketching some picture on my sketch book and took a photo for reference. Some a part of exhibition show a water colour painting in the moment of Iran women when she receives the letter from the man. Also, shows the dress of Iran women as well. I so surprised with their pattern design because some pattern looks similar as the pattern in the north of Thailand.
The second exhibition at The British museum I have chosen talk about ceramic art in Japan. The name of this exhibition is Made in Japan by Kakiemon family. They were made the Japanese porcelain four hundred years through fifteen generations. This room show the special brushes for porcelain painting and took a note “Please Touch” near by their stuffs. Moreover, they explained how to made Japanese porcelain with Kakiemon style in their studio through a video around five minutes on the top of their exhibition. They artwork always used the pastel colours for base colour such as light-blue colour, light-yellow colour and orange colour. These colours made their products feels smooth, soft and also could identify Japanese culture as well.
In the afternoon I moved to Victoria and Albert museum to see the third exhibition by tube and had a break around one hour before started to next exhibition. At the first before I came here I have chosen the ceramic exhibition on six floors but unfortunately they were closed. However, I also interested with fashion as well so I chose the fashion exhibition instead.
This exhibition has a lot of information about evolution of fashion in different year. All stuffs there could tell the stories of clothes also could tell the story of life style in different century thought themselves.
The last exhibition was Theatre and Performance. I was surprise in this exhibition than other. All of stuffs in this floor was amazing. I saw so many things creating for theatre, television and movie. There were a variety of products for promote the marketing as well. In this room they also put a lot of posters and figure on the wall everything seem messy but on the other hand, I thought it all perfectly.
In conclusion, after I visited these museums I gained an Idea and inspiration over than I was expecting. Also, I have to learn many thing at both museums like art, design, history and life style in different countries and cultures. This trip was the wonderful one of my travel in my life. I look forward to go there again soon in the future.
