will keep regular communication with Provincial Health Offices and BVDC offices in target provinces. Supportive supervision is fundamental to ensuring that activities are implemented as planned and at the necessary level of quality. BVBD will work with PHO and BVDC to monitor and supervise the implementation of proposed malaria control activities in four provinces which are Chanthaburi, Trat, Tak and Ranong. PHO and VBDC will supervise field activities of MPWs and BMPWs on a monthly basis.
BVBD will also monitor and supervise therapeutic efficacy study (TES) in Mae Hong Son, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Ranong, Chanthaburi and Songkla provinces. Monitoring and supervision will be conducted in all target provinces.
Field coordinators at BVBD office will continue to assist with implementation, data collection and reporting of field activities, particularly on finance and administrative requirements.
A significant barrier to preventing and controlling malaria is the language barriers between Thai health workers and migrants from Myanmar and Cambodia. Translators will be hired to support investigation of cases in migrants of the two provinces (esp. M2) through phone link with BMPs and malaria clinics.
