This project intend to create control circuit for DC Solar Pump. Buck converter which is controlled by microcontroller dsPIC30f2010 is chosen because it can step down voltage but step up current. It helps in starting motor. Moreover the pump can operate in low light condition and this circuit will also track maximum power point of solar cell. The circuit was designed to accept theinput voltage up to 40 volts and 10 amperes maximum input current. The 250 watts piston pump was used in the experiment to verify the pump controller. The experimental results concluded that the circuit can find maximum power point tracking of solar cell throughout the day. Experimental operation of pumps connected directly with a solar panel can’t start while it connect to buck converter a pump can start itself even in low light condition. The approximate value of water which is pumped via this pumping system is 10,000 liters per day while the power circuit efficiency is about 86 percent.
