The higher amount of Klec/Ag resulted in the lowest killing rate because of slower release rate of AgNPs. The slow release of AgNPs from phospholipid membranes can be achieved by high amount of lecithin which is due to larger nanocomposites and leads to slow release. In comparison, the
silver nanoparticles without stabilizer killed all bacteria within 20 min atKLec/Ag = 2; this time was prolonged to 90 and 120 min for S. aureus (Figure 5a) and E. coli (Figure 5b), respectively, because the AgNPs had direct contact to the bacterial cellmembrane and could easily disturb its permeability.
