In general, dietary AV and synbiotic supplementation
may have a benefit in promoting growth performance
in the early age of the birds. Particularly, inclusion of 5
and 7.5 g/kg AV, similar to synbiotic supplementation,
proved satisfactory results on BWG and duodenal
morphology and may have the potential to be applied
as an alternative for AGP in broiler diets. Synbiotics indicate
immunomodulating properties and are proven to
have favorable effects on antibody response but no
significant effect of AV on immunity was observed. Furthermore,
dietary AV resulted in an increase in RBC and
Hb values in broilers. While AV and synbiotics exhibited
hypolipidimic and hypocholesterolemic properties,
further investigations in different situations should be
conducted to achieve more comprehensive results.
