The European Commission reported that two-thirds of Europeans check foods for quality labels; however, recognition of individual quality labels is fairly low. Only 24% of the Europeans are aware of the new EU organic food logo (European Commission, 2012). Both national organic logos (such as BioSiegel) and organic logos certified by private organizations (for example Biogarantie, BioSuisse, or Soil Association) coexist with the EU organic logo.
