The total phenolic content (TPC) was measured to assess the influence of various solvent on rice bran extract. The three types of rice bran extracted by methanol contained more phenolic acids and much more abundantly than those of isopropyl alcohol, hexane, and ethyl acetate. (Figure 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3). Our data on the antioxidant activity of the three types of rice bran suggested that there was a direct correlation among DPPH antioxidant activity, ABTS+ radical-scavenging and total phenolic content.
