Section 2 is the Stogdill’s (1974) leader behaviour description questionnaire
(LBDQ) and has 40 items assigned to “Consideration” and “Initiating Structure”
categories of leadership style. It is a very well established questionnaire and
has been extensively used in the past (Michael, 1994; Warr et al., 1979). Subjects
responded on a five point scale, ranging from “not at all” (1) to “a great deal” (5).
The variables leadership style (Consideration) and leadership style (Initiating Structure) were formed as summative scales by averaging an
individual’s responses for items assigned to these two categories.
