Feature-based approach is considered as a solution for product specification and prediction of the required
processes. The proposed system attempts to identify and establish the associativities among the selected
technical characteristics such the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to all of the working surfaces
of the product. This approach will simply establish the missing link between the semantic rules and the
knowledge regarding the processes through the computer aided solid model. The quality of a part is
considered as one of the main issues in both design and manufacturing. The quality of the part must
always be maintained, and this factor is defined by the surface finish, maximum allowable tolerance,
geometric dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing. ANSI 14.6 is a standard structure widely used for
the identification of these factors. The proposed system will assist the designers during the design
process based on the criteria systems set by DFM and DFF methodologies. ANSI 14.6 standard is
