In this work, we investigate the polymerization behavior,
and especially the kinetics, of a series of new multifunctional
(meth)acrylate monomers. Due to their flexible
linking units, it is possible to obtain materials having
improved impact resistance and toughness. These will allow
expanded application of these new materials in areas where
bulk hardness (with accompanying brittle failure) is less
important than nanoscopic uniformity, toughness and
durability.
