The modeling of activities accounted for 8% of the strategies and techniques used during lesson observations. Dőrnyei (2001:58) comments that the criteria for the successful completion of an activity need to be explicitly clear to all learners although for some a discussion about these will not be enough. The use of live demonstrations and the presentation of examples of other student’s work may provide a more complete description of the standard of content and presentation that is expected for a particular activity and possibly help to ease learner anxiety caused by not knowing what to do (Cameron 2001).
